Authorities in Nepal warned of possible fresh flooding on Sunday after water levels rose in the Bhotekoshi River, the Associated Press reports. Warning notices reached people's phones through Sunday morning.

The Associated Press says Dharam Raj Uprety, chief executive of NDRRMA, told it that Chinese authorities had reported increased water flow upstream. Residents in flood-hit districts were urged to remain on high alert.

Rescue crews were clearing the Prithvi Highway while residents in Galchhi moved to higher ground. Stay away from riverbanks and follow local warnings.
