Nepal Telecom said Saturday it has restored mobile service at 80 of the 120 towers and sites knocked out by the flood in Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading, The Rising Nepal reports. Technicians were flown in by helicopter to reach some of the most remote sites, including towers in Gosainkunda, Suryagadhi and Bidur municipalities. Service in Dhunche, the Rasuwa district headquarters, came back on Thursday.
Phone lines being down is the main reason families cannot reach relatives in the flood zone. If you are trying to find someone, keep trying the same number rather than assuming coverage in their area is still out.
