Prithvi Highway still blocked, reopening targeted for Friday
The Prithvi Highway, the main road between Kathmandu and Pokhara, has been blocked since Wednesday evening after Bhotekoshi floodwater dumped mud across it in Gajuri and Galchhi, in Dhading, Onlinekhabar reports.
Debris still has to be cleared at three sites: Galoudi and Bahuni Bhir in Gajuri, and Mahesh Dobhan in Galchhi. Traffic police superintendent Dilli Narayan Pandey said clearing near settlements is what is causing the delay.
Authorities are aiming to reopen the highway by the end of Friday.
