NDRRMA said on Friday morning that 977 people are now listed out of contact in Nepal, up from 910 the evening before. NDRRMA put the foreign national count at 517, the same as the previous update, IANS reports.

The new figure has not changed Nepal Police's confirmed death toll, which stood at 489 as of Friday's midday bulletin.

Out of contact does not mean dead. Phone lines, power and internet are still down across large parts of the flood zone, and officials are still working through the lists as contact is slowly restored.

If you are trying to find someone in the flood zone, call the nearest District Police Office or 100, and register the same details with the local ward office.
