About 80 Nepali container truck drivers have been stranded for three days in Kerung, the Chinese border town across from Rasuwagadhi, since the flood wrecked the road home, the Kathmandu Post reports.
Rasuwa's chief district officer, Narendra Pariyar, said it is currently impossible to bring them back through the Rasuwagadhi border point because the road is destroyed.
Driver Krishna Bahadur Lamichhane told the paper 80 people have registered their names so far, and that they are paying for their own food and lodging in Kerung while they wait.
The Rasuwagadhi to Kerung road took the worst damage from the Bhotekoshi flood and is expected to stay impassable for months, so the drivers are asking officials to bring them home through an alternative border crossing instead.
